This was not presented in the workshop, but I highly suggest registering for the Saudi Aramco World newsletter. It's a bimonthly magazine that features articles which focuses on the cultural, historical, and geographical world of Islam and Middle East/Asia. It was created back in the late 1940s to promote awareness and appreciation of the Middle East but has certainly grown to incorporate much more.

I signed up for the print edition several weeks ago, but I'm currently reading the online edition. This month's features include Islamic arts in Southeast Asia and it talks about the designs and mediums used--very cool. In each issue, there is a Classroom guide that allows for the article to be used in conjunction with class room activities.
