GuestThis Seminar on Korean History and Culture sounds very interesting. I will contact them to see if there is any more space available and what the fee is, if any. THis is a very important topic, especially form me, because we have been enrolling more Korean students at our school in the last few years.
Thank You xjiang for the info.July 4, 2011 at 9:49 am #10236Anonymous
GuestThank you for this information. i will try to find out more in detail. I realize that as a teacher in America, we need to know more culture background, since we have a variety of students from different culture. I am happy we have so many chances to access to them.

GuestI did this seminar a few years ago, it is really well done, with a variety of experiences. They will fund your housing if you live out of town.

GuestWell today was interesting again. We learned a ton and I was interested to learn that the US was more interested in an occupation zone in southern Korea than letting Koreans just have independence. It is hard to absorb everything but Korea has truly been a nation jostled about by the great and regional powers. And look at the success they have had anyway.

SpectatorMadeline, The announcement Xin put up was for 2011. The Korea Academy for Educators website is at: http://www.koreaacademy.org/.
Unfortunately, their 2012 program here in LA overlaps with our summer seminar. It began on Monday and ends Friday. Visit the Academy's website to get on their mailing list and to learn about upcoming workshops. They have one in San Diego on Oct. 20.
KAFE programs are highly recommended. Many of our NCTA alumni have participated in them and found the experience useful.
