    Thanks so much for this information. This can definitely be used in the classroom to better explain the one child policy. I think the one child policy needs to be criticized but at the same time being unclear about its reality can create misconceptions and negative imaging about China.

    I think you can use the information about Japan's spending and saving in a econ class. I wonder if there are articles that show how the savings has affected their economy lately as they have fell. America believes that spending money actually earns money. I wonder if the saving in Japan has increased or decreased since their economy has fallen; accordingly an interesting argument can be made.

    I think the N and S Korean night light comparison photo is great. I'd like to have one of those to show my students what the lack of freedom can do to a country. This dumbing down of our students in relationship to geography I still think could be remedied if all classrooms had a set of maps and each topic that is discussed included some geographic focus. We need to squeeze it in with some topical relevence since I haven't heard anything about bringing back geography classes.
