One of the most fascinating statements in this lecture was referring to Sun Yat-sen as a Leninist. I have never heard this idea stated, and it came as a bit of a surprise, but Mr. Dube did give the reasons to back up the statement. I am going to try to pose this to my students, and then see if they can come up with the reasons this would be true. It is a great statement to end a discussion on the Nationalist Revolution.

Thank you so much for all the hospitality and snacks! Clay it was a wonderful lecture. Thank you for all the visuals and insights into this period of Chinese History. I hadnt really realized how complex Chinese history in this period really was. I didnt know that there were differences among the communists/socialists, as there were in Russia, and how to get the Mongols out, they did unite (temporarily). I found it extremely complex and fascinating![Edit by="dtorres on Feb 24, 12:00:48 PM"][/Edit]

I was quite interested in hearing the comparison between Sun-Yatsen and Lennist.
How is it possible for two leaders from two seperate worlds be soo similar?

That is so funny that you say that cause Patti and I were talking about that. This was a very interesting discussion.
