This is an excellent website. I've been looking for opportunities to introduce literature from cultures around the world in order to broaden my students' perspective on people from different countries and cultures. The website provides many great suggestions for supporting students in literature with respect to the Korean culture.

Thank you lvaden for sharing this wonderful website! I too have many Korean students that would love to learn about some of their own folk tales and songs. Many of the folk tales also are different versions of English folk tales and it is fun to discover with the children their similarities and differences. I think it is wonderful to also teach our American students about literature from other countries and thus open their eyes to other cultures.

Very neat website! This is a great source to use when expanding my Asian literature collection. I love the short summary for each book so I know what kind of story I am getting. I know my Korean students would love the books, too. I wonder how many of the stories they already know. I'm even thinking that when we are in the Computer Lab, I could pull up the website, have them read the summaries, and pick out the books they want me to order. Thanks, lvaden!

Wow, this is nice. This can also be used in other grade levels. Middle school students would love to be able to sing even simple songs like this. The stories can be very useful at any level, they will help students make connections. Great web page!

I teach Kindergarten and this website is a great resource for primary grades (K-3) on Korean folk tales and much more.

It also shows traditional Korean clothing and lists many Korean folk tales that have been illustrated and translated into books in English.

The site also has some simple Korean songs that my class can learn. In our afternoon Kindergarten class we have 5 Korean speaking students. I plan on having them help us learn these songs. I know they will be so excited to share their language and culture with us.

I plan on using this site as a resource when I write my lesson plans. I want my students to be aware that many cultures have their own folk tales. I will be ordering some of the books listed on this website from Amazon to add to my classroom library.

I love your idea of having the Korean speaking students help the others learn the songs.
