Tell me waht you think about the "Butterfly Dream" metaphor? In preparing for the debate on Tuesday I have been reviewing notes on Taoism and rekindling my interest in this philosophy. As part of this journey toward enlightenment I wanted to share a website I found today, with my colleagues, that elaborates on the poems and parables included in our binder. Go to Taoism.net and read some of Derek Lin's articles, especially his interpretation of the passage from the Zhuang Zi (Chuang Tzu) by Zhuong Zhou (Chuang Chou) about the "Butterfly Dream". The primary source is included in our binder under Chinese philosophy on page 39.

The butterfly metaphor goes beyond just transformation but extends to how one chooses to react to negativity. I'll save my other observations till I hear more from you.
