GuestWow! Looks like I missed out on a great last session- sorry I couldn't be there. I had to rest and respect doctor's orders. The ninth month of pregnancy is not easy. Now that I delivered (May 28) it is catch-up time! I saw the group picture and I t reminded me of all the kind people I met in class. It was a pleasure attending this seminar! Thank you Dr. Clayton for all the knowledge you passed on to us and for showing us your sense of humor
I am left with a wealth of information to use for years to come. I hope everyone has a great summer!June 20, 2012 at 6:50 am #20336Anonymous
GuestI am also sorry that I missed the last couple of sessions, but I was in East Africa! I am taking away some great new ideas about to engage my students in discussing the major schools of thought that emerged during the 100 schools era. Thanks for making the opportunity available!

GuestI wish we had one more session that covered 19th century China and Japan. I really wanted to know more about the Opium Wars and the Taiping Rebellion. I also want to learn more about the Mejie Restoration period, and how Japan was able to resist the imperial powers and itself become and imperial power. I did know going in the Seminar ends short of the 1800s, but thought maybe there was a chance...Thank you Dr. Dube and Dr. Yamashita for your insights.

GuestI am so glad I decided to enroll in this seminar. I came away with an average of ten pages of notes per session. The readings were as engaging and useful as the material covered during each class. Dr. Dube and Dr. Yamashita provided me with insights and questions I had not considered in my lesson planning but which I now I can surely not do without. Thank you also to the voices in the classroom and online as the contributions of all participants was invaluable.

GuestAlthough it has been a busy time for me and I regret not being able to contribute more during the course, I am so grateful to the Freeman Foundation for this opportunity. Clay you are awesome! The program could not have found a more knowledgable or enthusiastic professor to accomplish their mission. A thousand thank yous.
