The Chinese govrnment will still not allow discussion of the revolt as well as the horrible "Cultural Revolution" of the 1960s.

Ma Jingjun, who owns a Mao memorabilia shop in Beijing, was a boy during the Cultural Revolution. He saw a classmate's father jump to his death from a building because of political harassment. Still, Ma backs the party's conclusion that Mao was "70% right, 30% wrong."
That doesn't mean he's nostalgic about the Cultural Revolution. "China must publicize it directly and point out the harm it caused and how to avoid a repetition," he said.
