GuestOk, here is another story my students read on Roman soldiers in the Chinese City of Gansu. The soldiers were captured by the Parthian army and sent east to fight against the Chinese who in turn captured them. Anyway, read and enjoy. I use this with my AP World History kids when the study about the Silk Road. Please observe all copyright laws. nb

GuestDutch learning, or Japanese Original Thought? Ok, here is a unique article that argues that the Japanese were really not copying the Dutch science, mathematics, and philosophy. It claims that these were already on the minds of Japanese thinkers before the Dutch brought these ideas to Japan. Anyway, its from the page of the New York Times and is of interest to those who enjoy counter arguements. Please observe copyright laws. nb

GuestOk, here is a very interesting article on the suicides on the Okinawa in the closing days of WWII. But its with a twist, the Okinawans' blame the Japanese for falsely convincing them to commit suicide. Great reading. Enjoy. From the pages of the New York Times.
