Just thought I'd share some shots from a trip I took to Japan this summer, late June to mid July. I think I was in Nagoya when the China-Japan group arrived in Nippon.

    We went for two reasons......

Us: Patrick, just graduated Verdugo and was key in the Japan Club there, his dad, and I; we toured Tokyo for a week, Kyoto for three days, and Hiroshima for two days, then back to Tokyo. It rained off and on, but mostly the weather was a perfect mishmash between humid heat (nowhere near what my friends tell me they are experiencing now) and some downright moderate days with cool evenings--kind of like LA this last month, with humidity.

I sure learned to read maps and find street addresses. Even better than the taxi drivers. I also learned a lot about getting lost. It is actually fun, in Tokyo, at least.

Me: I then went to Nagoya for about five days to see my colleagues from 20 years ago. They had me tour and present at Nagoya Commercial High School 名古屋商業高等学校 Follow that link to their page about my visit.

Well, here is the set I prepared from the gagillion shots I have on my hard drive. Pick the slideshow setting for a fast presentation.....pick the grid to look at things closely at your own speed. Victor Ortiz' Japan Trip, Summer 2008
