Today, Ollie North's program on FBN, "War Stories" was about the Korean War. This was a very interesting program detailing the U.S. plan to invade South Korea via the the port of Inchon. It also showed the tremendous economic progress of South Korea since the war due to the will of the people to achieve a more democratic society. They are quite a success story! Tension still remains between North and South Korea, and there is constant vigilance at the border. There is a military site along the border with a building where negotiations are held to maintain the peace between the two countries. Inside the building, there is a conference table with chairs situated so that one side sits in North Korea and the opposite side in South Korea.
The U.S. soldier conducting the tour was asked if he had ever been in North Korea, and he responded "only inside this building." When a South Korean man was asked whether the two countries will unite in the future, his response was that as long as South Korean continues on its current path, this will not happen.
