I came across this website, http://www.ducksters.com/geography/asia.php. The website is very simple to use, it provides history, fun facts, visuals, maps, timelines, games and many more options for kids. I believe it will be extremely useful even with students in Middle School, because it makes geography fun for them. Students could use this website to learn more about any country they want. I will assign it yo my students to research the geography of China, Japan, Korea and many other places. They could label the map one side and on the back include fun facts, and major cities today.

The Museum of Tolerance has recently hosted speakers about Asians who helped rescue European Jewish refugees during World War II. Of note is Chiune Sugihara, a Japanese diplomat who saved the lives of more than 6,000 European Jewish refugees during WWII. Sugihara's nephew, Tetsuya Sugihara, spoke about his uncle's efforts and met with Leon Prochnik, a WWII Holocaust Survivor who was saved because of the transit visas Siguhara issued. Please visit the website: http://www.museumoftolerance.com for more information about future speakers.
