Exploring Cultures Through Art China and Japan by Scholastic is a fantastic resource to have. There are 25 art projects and other activities that can be used as supplemental lessons to enrich student learning. Each lesson has background information as well as simple and clear directions. Some interesting lessons include name chops (China), calligraphy (China and Japan), woodblock prints (China or Japan), elevation map (China and Japan), scroll landscapte paintings (China and Japan) and Bunraku puppets (Japan).
