Just like we discussed in class, China relies on the U.S. for shipping... As stated in the article: “They rely on us for a lot of shipping,” Mr. Black said. “There’s no question that as they roll out and launch products, that’s creating new jobs in the U.S.” Some interesting arguments were raised regarding jobs overseas and whether or not those employed by Apple would be employed in China if Apple did not exist.
Last session with Prof. Dube we reviewed a statement made by Vice President Joe Biden, about Chinese trade practices and we had a small discussion about the Chinese trade laws. This article about Apple and its employment practices was very eye-opening and interesting. Especially, since last week the new Apple IPAD 3 was released to consumers.
