Asia for Educators is a great resource for both students and teachers to use to learn more about East Asia. It is an initiative of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. It has so many resources for anyone to use, such as professional development for teachers, video lectures, geography with interactive maps, and resources in art, language arts, and religions. It is linked to other websites that help give a broader perspective of East Asia. To get to the website, go to: http://afe.easia.columbia.edu. It is such a rich amount of information for you to use for your class. The website offers four modules for teaching: The Song Dynasty, The Mongols, The Qing Dynasty, and China & Europe: Modern Times. It also offers primary sources, videos, lesson plans, timelines and elementary-level resources. I haven't even seen everything on the website yet, but what I have seen is wonderful. I really look forward to using it.
