Hi, just in case anyone is interested in reading historical fiction books. The book by James Rollins, titled, "The Eye of God," is amazing. I have read twice and is one of my favorite historical fiction books. Is a book about a special forces called Sigma Force, goes to Mongolia to look for a crashed satellite for the Chinese can get to it, as they go through China to get to Mongolia, they faced multiple obstacles. They are looking for the lost tomb of the Mongol king Ghenhis Khan in order to stop the end of the world they have to succeed. Is a fiction book, yet it has a, lot of historical details that make the book so much fun to read. Some of the claims made in the book are that at one point the Vatican bribed the Mongols not to attack Rome, and that a large percent of people today are descendants of Ghengis Khan since he conquered and ruled a huge empire.

I too love historical fiction, I read tons of it.
I have read all of Lisa See's novels and I would highly recommend her work. Lisa see is a local author who writes about the history of China Town in Los Angeles where she grew up, and about her Chinese roots from family tales and research trips to China. Lisa's great grandfather was a "southern Chinese peasant".

"Shangai Girls" is one of my favorite novels which takes place from 1937-1957 and encompasses WW2 history from the Chinese and American perspectives, Japan is also involved and it is not easy to read some of the war time chapters.
I am especially interested in WW2 as seen through the eyes of participants because my father was a a child in England during WW2 and I learn from reading accounts whether fictional or non-fictional of this time period and what he and my family must have experienced.
