I have not heard about this book, now I definitely putting it on my wishlists for books. This type of books, are my favorite, a mixture of historical facts and fiction to help bring the history alive, are amazingly fun to read. Thanks, for let me know about it.

Exquisitely written, well told story that is part romance, part courtroom drama, and part WWII drama. Tensions run high when a European American is found dead in his boat off the coast of Washington state. Suspicion instantly falls on one of the minority group at that time- the Japanese. It documents the pre and post internment of Japanese Americans as well as the ignorance of some townspeople that may have led the Japanese to self-segregate. The lawyer that is hired for the Japanese defendant appears to be the underdog in this tale where the settings have inspired numerous readers to visit this small community and its outlying islands. As one reads the book, one can substitute any city and any minority population as they seek to build their version of the American Dream. It is much better than the movie.
