    Cumulative Essay

When I attended the professional development that led me to this class, I actually found that I was quite fascinated with the topic and the possibilities. I came down for a Saturday session about Tiananmen Square and got very excited because this was exactly what I was looking for to gain more knowledge and possibly implement information in my classroom. It has been exactly that.

The lessons and readings that impacted me the most were usually about the women and the policies and stories that surrounded them. I learned a tremendous amount when we heard the speaker that spoke on the one child policy. I loved that she gave us her book and I immediately dove in to read. I find the policies on child management interesting and will be paying attention as the results of this practice unfolds in the upcoming years.

The lesson on Korean poetry also added to my class curriculum. I always taught haiku, but now I could add.Soju into my lesson. The student’s poetry was fun to write and it turned out beautifully. I was able to learn something that was awesome to incorporate into my lessons.

Finally I loved the quality of teachers you brought into speak. I felt I was always being instructed by experts. Thank you for providing the best in their fields. I learned a lot.
