In the California World History standards imperialism in China is in the standards, so the the Great Leap Forward.

Also Rape of Najing. They are all located in Grade ten section of standards. http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/documents/histsocscistnd.pdf

I have had a heck of a time finding a good source for history standards related to China and low and behold I found a link to USC China Institute.

Also AP World history covers a lot of China's history. In fact my kids have a saying, "When you are unsure of an answer, pick China!" Lol.
