Hi Folks,
Some of you were interested in China's soft power efforts, which include the Confucius Institutes, film, and much more. And you asked about human rights issues.

Here is a Talking Points column from last year which focused on the Chen Guangcheng case (blind lawyer, defended women compelled to have abortions or to be sterilized, sued village officials) and included an attempt by actor Christian Bale to visit him. It also includes those Michael Jackson-influenced Chinese dancers.
