Recently a friend of mine visited Paris for his usual annual convention. For the first time he and his wife were rejected by a Taxi driver because he was an Asian. He noticed that there were lines in front of famous Louis Vuitton store and they were all Chinese admitting few customer at a time. Here in US, I recently went to Las Vegas and on my way to Vegas, we stopped by an outlet in Barstow California, a stream of tour buses were unloading Chinese tourists by few hundreds. They must have a lot of money. I am not surprised by an article from LA times.

Another popular tourist destination for Asian tourists is the Cabazon Outlet Mall, off the 10 fwy, on the way to Palm Springs. I've been there a couple of times and am always blown away by the sight of so many Asian tourists. In their defense, it is a pretty amazing outlet mall (seemingly hundreds of shops).

This article, located in the California section, discusses how this upscale mall located in Orange County in a destination for Asian tourists. What I found interesting was that every store has an Asian assitant, and that there is a director of domestic and international markets. The tourists are paying for there items in cash, and are excited that they are getting bargains. These visits are part of a tour, which includes Disneyland and the Nixon Library.
