Now, I include this website primarily because it is one of my 3 year old daughter's favorite show. I personally found it interesting that a show with Chinese culture and language was on the air for kids. It certainly makes sense to promote it to the very young in a disarming and fun way. And since Dora is doing the same for Latin American culture, why not Asian too? But this post is for the Nick Jr. website.
The website features video clips, simple point and click games, coloring pages, etc. These are all peppered with Chinese words and culture such as a trip to the Great Wall, the Lantern Festival, the Monkey King, the Zodiac, etc. Some features can be used in the primary grades, and I know I could use the zodiac in 4th or 5th grade as it is of general interest. This website is a nice, simple, sanitized resource for Pre-K to maybe 2nd grade. Well worth a quick look.
