Some interesting articles here. Specifically I was intrigued by “Rising Dragon and the American Eagle” (even the title is interesting) where I learned that Australia, and other countries are more aligned with China than with the U.S. concerning North Korea in specific and the Asian areas generally. It seems that China has been able to charm the region while America just looks like bullies only concerned about terrorism. I am looking forward to the professor lecturing about this. Sadly, the more I learn the more about the world the more I lean towards isolationism. That might be an illogical economical ideology, but a feeling isn’t always logical. I am looking forward to the professor lecturing about this.

I am too torn by tendencies to isolationism. The U.S. spends billions and billions of dollars in aid and outreach to the world under the name of 'nation building'. When is enough enough? I have to remind myself that historically, isolationism after WW1 helps contribute to WW2 and the holocaust and it is better if the U.S. is involved in world politics. When are we going to start nation building here at home?
