I use this site a lot with my AP Human Geography students, but you can also use with any history students. The website uses various categories and topics to map where items are located and creates a cartogram map of the topic. You have the option to have a map that's specific to the USA, the World or Japan. So, you could map for example where the most college graduates, suicide rates, crops, production, and many other items are located. I usually tend to use them in conjunction with categorillas. Check out the site, it's pretty interesting if you're into using maps a lot in your classroom or like have kids map items. I also attached an example of a categorilla map that I use with my AP Human Geography students.
