I just read an article about a Chinese man’s concern over his son’s use of online videogames. According to the article, he was so upset over his son’s excessive video game usage that he hired other gamers (with a higher player level than his son) to kill his avatar over and over online. He felt that his son would lose interest in playing and would focus more on finding a job. You can find the article here: http://news.msn.com/pop-culture/report-father-hires-gamers-to-kill-son-in-online-games. While this is not solely a Chinese problem, there have been a few articles lately over obsessive video game usage in Asia. I remember a South Korean guy who died a few years ago who dies after playing for multiple days without end. There really should be time limits on video games to protect our kids. I enjoy playing too but I’m lucky to get an hour every couple of days!
