A review of Mehta's latest can be found in the latest issue of Asia Pacific Arts. It would be great, though, for a few teachers to comment on this film.

    The APA review is at:

    Hi Folks,
James is quite right about the usefulness of The Perry-Castenada Map Library at the University of Texas. You should also look at the web resources thread of the Asia in My Classroom forum lists many excellent sites.

You can also access a dated, but still useful catalog at:
    Asia via the Web

I don't want to trigger an avalanche of things to buy posts, but this article in the NY Times discusses Mao junk that is all the rage.

What? No one's contributed any websites? Nothing special about Shanghai?

Here's a site that includes information about China's floating population and other social phenomenon. China in the Red is a compelling documentary that can be viewed in its entirety via the web:

Please take a look at it and let us know what you think.

Tank Man is another important documentary available online:

Thanks, Reza, for sharing these photos. I've asked Michael Laffan to scan some of the images for the Indonesian guide for pilgrims. I think they are quite interesting in what they reveal about Indonesian conceptions of Saudi Arabia and other peoples.
